The College of Health Sciences (CHS) held its inaugural Open Day on 14th and 15th February, 2018.
The 2-day event was hosted at the college located at Kenyatta National Hospital under the theme: Learn, grow and prosper.
CHS Principal Prof. James Machoki led the college management to grace the function.
In his address, Prof. Machoki said the event gives an opportunity to the public, stakeholders and prospective students to get more information on the programs and services offered at the college and also give their feedback which goes a long way in being considered when critical decisions are being made at the college and the University of Nairobi.
He noted that holding such a forum helps institutions share with the general public about who they are and provide career guidance to prospective students.
“We possibly guide those who have not made a decision of who they want to become in future because university education revolves around the whole process of releasing a worker who is ready for the job market,” Prof. Machoki said.
During the event, the guests, who mainly comprised of high school students from renowned schools in Nairobi got a chance to interact with top professors in the field of medicine.
The college also organized career and motivational talks for the prospective students and also toured stands where they got to know more details about the schools and institutes at the college.
